From Shariah Advisory to Agentic AI: My Journey as Ahmed Raza, Founder of Cybrum Solutions
Assalamu Alaikum. I'm Ahmed Raza — an active Islamic Scholar and an AI Solutions Expert. My mission is simple: combine classical Islamic knowledge with modern technology to make authentic Islamic teachings accessible, easy, and engaging for everyone.
I'm the Founder of Cybrum Solutions, and currently Team Lead Translation at Dawat-e-Islami's Translation Department (شعبہ تراجم), where I'm leading a 33-language Quranic content translation pipeline.
If that sounds like an unusual combination, you're not alone. People often ask me: "How does a Hafiz-e-Quran and Asst. Shariah Advisor end up building agentic AI systems?" This article is my honest answer.
Where I Started
I grew up inside Pakistan's traditional Islamic education system. My academic path:
- Hafiz-e-Quran — memorisation of the complete Holy Quran
- Shahadat Ul Almiyah (Masters in Arabic & Islamiat) — Tanzeem-ul-Madaris
- University of Karachi equivalence to Masters in Arabic & Islamiat
- Takhassus Fil Fiqh — Specialization in Jurisprudence, Jamia-Tul-Madina, Karachi
After that, I spent over 8 years as an Asst. Shariah Advisor and Asst. Mufattish at Dar-ul-Madinah International Islamic School System, alongside years of teaching at scholar-level institutions like Al Miftah Scholars Academy and Jamia Noor Ul Quran — together, more than a decade inside the Islamic sciences.
That work taught me one thing more than anything else: meaning is sacred. A single word, a single chain of transmission, a single ruling — each must be handled with care, traced to its source, and never invented.
The Moment AI Clicked
When AI stopped being a buzzword and became a real force, I noticed something. The exact discipline I had spent over a decade practising in the Islamic sciences was precisely what AI systems were failing at.
Large language models could write fluent text. But they could also confidently fabricate. They had no concept of sanad — a verified chain back to source. They had no instinct for "do not speak without authority."
That gap — between fluent and trustworthy — was where my two worlds met. I've written more about that overlap in Bridging Islamic Knowledge and Artificial Intelligence.
I started learning seriously. I went through GIAIC's Cloud Computing and Agentic AI program, completed SMIT's Generative AI and Chatbot Development and Modern Web Application Development tracks, and dug deep into prompt engineering, RAG, agentic systems, multi-agent workflows, and modern web stacks. I built. I broke things. I built again.
What I'm Doing Now
Today I run two roles in parallel — both with the same underlying mission.
Team Lead Translation — Dawat-e-Islami's Translation Department (شعبہ تراجم)
I lead a multilingual Quranic content translation pipeline across 33 target languages, using a structured relay chain (Arabic → Urdu → English → 33 languages). My job is to manage translator teams, set quality benchmarks, enforce scholarly standards across every language output, and oversee the workflow from translation to publishing.
This is where AI quietly becomes a force multiplier — not as an authority, never that, but as a tireless assistant for drafting, consistency checks, terminology drift detection, and workflow routing. (I unpacked this whole approach in How AI Is Helping Translate Quranic Content Across 33 Languages.) The scholar is always at the centre. Always.
Founder & AI Solutions Expert at Cybrum Solutions
I founded Cybrum Solutions in November 2025 to bring AI automation to organisations that historically haven't had access to it — Islamic publishers, educational institutions, and Pakistani small and medium businesses.
Our offerings:
- WhatsApp chatbots for customer service and internal workflows
- CRM workflow automation using agentic systems
- Multi-agent AI solutions for content, translation, and operations
- Custom LLM integration for industry-specific use cases
If you're a business owner in Pakistan thinking about how to use AI but unsure where to start — that's exactly the conversation I want to have with you.
My Philosophy
The tagline I live by is simple: Execution Over Words.
Anyone can talk about AI. Anyone can post about "the future". What matters is what you actually ship — what works in production, what saves a real team's time, what helps a real organisation grow.
The same applies to Islamic knowledge. Anyone can quote a text. What matters is whether you have internalised it deeply enough to apply it under pressure, with care, without distortion.
Both worlds reward the same thing: substance over performance.
What's Next
In the months ahead, I'm focused on:
- Scaling the 33-language translation pipeline — building agentic workflows that make scholarly review faster without compromising accuracy.
- Growing Cybrum Solutions — onboarding more Pakistani SMEs into AI-enabled operations.
- Writing more on this blog — sharing what I learn at the intersection of Islamic knowledge and modern AI, in English, Roman Urdu, and اردو (every article in all three).
- Building open tools — small, focused utilities that other practitioners can use, especially in Islamic content workflows.
